For weddings, I like to describe my style as a mix of relaxed traditional and photo journalistic style.
Before and after the ceremony, I do the traditional portraits of the bride and groom with their families. However, I aim to do a relaxed session, and throw in the mix some more humorous photos, so that we can all have some fun while still creating beautiful portraits. When I have an assistant with me, the assistant takes some candid, "behind-the-scenes" photos to complement the formal photos.
During the ceremony, it become more of a photo journalistic project, where I document the moments of the ceremony, from the groom waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for the bride to arrive at the church, to the couple walking down the aisle together at then end. If I stay for the reception, then I offer a mix of photo journalistic coverage of the formal moments (speeches, first dance, cutting the cake, etc.) and candid photos of the bride and groom, their families and wedding party talking an interacting with the guests.
